The only thing about this pack is you have to take the bag completely out to fill it. Some other camelbaks have access to the reservoir from outside the pack. But because of this design you get an extra pocket to keep things in, it wasn't too big of a hassle to take the bag out.

great to run with! liquid sloshes a lot, but otherwise ok. only complaint is liquid in the sipper tube freezes in cold weather so insulate it before heading out if you plan to use it in cold weather. otherwise, you will find yourself very thirsty.

bought it to go running and I love it. the pocket is big enough to hold an extra shirt and a few belongings.

I purchased this CamelBak to use while running or hiking. It is constructed really well. The material is strong and obviously will last a long time. I have stored 2 wallets, an iPhone, and my car keys in the extra compartments with room to spare. Upon filling up the pack for the first time there was NO taste of plastic at all, which was really surprising. The mouth piece has a shut off valve and the water will only flow if you bite down on the end and suck at the same time. I had no spillage on my first 4 mile run with it. It is VERY light even when completely filled. Did not bother my back at all. The shoulder straps are lined with a soft material so there is no chafing.
I did have a problem with it chafing my lower back, but that was my fault. I was wearing a tank top that did not cover my mid-drift. I also did not have the pack on tight enough. As soon as I tightened up the straps, no more chafing. You HAVE to use the buckle that goes across your chest and make sure that it fits right. The pack does not bounce around, (I am a very tiny person), so that was a pleasant surprise as well. Overall a very comfortable pack. My only complaint is that you do have to tuck the drinking tube back through the shoulder strap so it wont keep hitting your arm as you run.
I love it! March 10, 2010 rocketD (California) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I like the color, I like the length of the tube, I like how easy it is to fill up the reservoir. I think it's a great size; it doesn't bounce; the pockets are useful. The ventilation seems to work well because I didn't feel hot with it on, and I like that I can put ice cubes in the large reservoir-mouth. It fits me comfortably even though "women's" gear usually doesn't (I'm only 5'9", but apparently that's out of the range of a lot of women's stuff). I took away one star because when I got it, the bottom seam under the pocket curved into my back and rubbed uncomfortably. I folded that backward toward the bottom pocket and clipped it to that bottom loop (who's going to hang stuff on that loop to whack you in the back anyway?), and problem solved. I weighed it and as full as I could get it, with my cell phone and a spare key, it was 3.5lb.
