Some people use this bag to store water and fill up bottles. Real men however, drink straight from the cap. I worked at a outdoor therapy program for adolescents. Staff and students used these bags 360 days a year in every possible condition; from below freezing to over 100*F, dropped and thrown, etc. My employment has ceased and I now use the Dromedary as part of everyday life, preferring a 4L bag for camping, hiking, climbing, or any general outdoor activity.
These bags are durable and unless you are overly reckless with it I see no reason why the construction would fail. Granted, I have seen these bags fail in every way possible from seam leaks, burn-holes, punctures, cap malfunction, full-bag freeze bursting, etc, etc, etc. The industry I worked in abused the crap out of gear. This is one of the few "name-brand" outdoor pieces my employer used. Get 2L or 4L for personal use/drinking from the cap. Get 6L+ to store water and fill up w/e plastic/steel bottle you have.
Also, makes a good portable outdoor shower.

Bought the 6 liter for backpacking. Easy to fill and handle. Fabric seems extremely tough. It packs tight if you get any air compressed out of it. The various openings were useful though I don't think I have usd the 1/2-inch for much of anything. Perhaps my only objection is you must grab the base of the opening through the fabric with one hand while tightening the lid with the other. It is not a huge inconvenience, though, since I can still close it up with no spillage. I was worried about leaks on my first extended outing into the desert with it but I had no problems. Glad I have it!

Holds a lot of water. Only problem with 10 Liters of water on your back is it's HEAVY, about 25 pounds once it's full. But you can't break the laws of physics so if you need a lot of water, you'll have to deal with the weight one way or the other.

I have the 6 liter version. It packs great - molding around everything else in the pack. It seems very durable - no problems so far. It fits easily in my backpack's water bladder compartment. The three different nozzles for getting water - a 2 inch opening, a 1/2 inch nozzle and a small straw-like nozzle - are very useful. The water stored in the bladder does have a very slight plastic taste, but nothing objectionable. I highly recommend this.

My review has nothing to do with using this item for carrying water. I use it with a sidemount diving rig. To see what I am talking about check out the [...] website for the actual harness details. I would recommend the 4L Bladder for this job not the 2L.
It works great. It is robust, simple in construction and has lots of useful grommets that act as attachment points. Just remember it has no overpressure valve so you have to purge it as you are ascending or you risk rupturing it.
